Sigal founded and currently serves as chair, chief executive and president of NewMark Merrill Cos., which has grown to become one of the fastest growing privately held developers and owners of shopping centers in California, Colorado and Illinois. Since the company’s inception in 1997, Sigal has acquired, developed and/or managed and repositioned more than 100 retail centers, representing almost 11 million square feet with a collective value in excess of $2 billion. Last year, the company launched NewMark Merrill Hadler Community Partners, a division focused on underserved communities. Prior to founding NewMark Merrill, Sigal served as the president and chief executive of West Venture Cos., a Southern California-based homebuilder.
