Chicago Business Journal: Chicago’s Bricktown Square Shopping Center getting $1.5 Million Facelift

A $1.5 million facelift is planned for the Bricktown Square shopping center on Chicago’s Northwest Side by NewMark Merrill Cos. Inc.

The Southern California retail shopping center owner and development company owns the 292,000-square-foot retail property at 6420 W. Fullerton Ave. as well the Winston Plaza in Melrose Park; Stratford Crossing in Bloomingdale; and Stony Island Plaza, Midway Square, Pulaski Promenade and Marketplace at Six Corners all in Chicago.

Completion is expected by the fourth quarter.

“Residents in Chicago are extremely loyal to retail, embracing the culture and community created at each center,” said Sandy Sigal, president and CEO NewMark Merrill, in a statement. “We are confident that the community will be excited about our renovation at Bricktown Square.”

NewMark Merrill acquired Bricktown Square in 2021.

Renovations will include combining two existing spaces into a single larger space for a new Skechers location at the mall; completing façade renovations and new paint to the ATI, Harbor Freight and LA Fitness buildings; and new signage. Okini Buffet and Kinship Health are set to open at the mall later this year.

Tower Commercial Construction is the general contractor.
