Brad Pearl, Greg Giacopuzzi, and Darren Bovard of NewMark Merrill secured the new tenants and are overseeing leasing at Desert Sky Plaza II.

“The tenant demand for Desert Sky Plaza speaks volumes about the opportunities for retailers to thrive in Victorville and the greater region. The commitment by Target to build their newest prototype here, the addition of the top names in soft goods, general services, quick serve, sit down and drive through restaurants as well as other regional and local operators demonstrates that new construction in the right areas with the right anchors can thrive,” said Sandy Sigal, NewMark Merrill Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “The high desert region of Southern California continues to grow with affordable housing, convenient access, supportive local government, and abundant business and job centers. We are looking forward to opening this center in 2027 and providing the community a destination that will serve as a gathering place for memory making, quality shopping, and be a center piece of the neighborhood.”

The NewMark Merrill development team includes Sandy Sigal, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer; Susan Rorison, Chief Operating Officer; Jim Patton, Senior Vice President of Leasing & Acquisitions; Sandra Kist, Chief Financial Officer; Brad Pearl, Executive Vice President; Luca Giovanardi, Chief Development Officer; Greg Giacopuzzi, Vice President, Leasing and Development; and Elaine Weiss, Senior Project Manager, Construction & Development. The development is a joint venture with World Premier Investments and RY Properties, Inc.

Desert Plaza II is conveniently located off the I-15 freeway at the Southeast corner of Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road in the City of Victorville. The center is a component of the larger, comprehensive, and approximately 100-acre commercial development known as The Desert Plazas which currently features Winco and Home Depot anchors and will include over 800,000 square feet of retail when fully completed. This area boasts over 31,000 average daily trips on Roy Rogers Drive and more than 90,000 trips, and over 32,000,000 annual impressions from the project’s digital reader board located at the I-15 freeway offramp.  The trade area for this development will include over 130,928 potential shoppers and is situated within a growth market with over 22,500 new homes approved and/or under development.
